Tree Life Cyanotypes

Looking at the complex twists and turns of these quiet beings, trees share so much in common with people from their need for community, to needing a place to be grounded, heal, and continue to grow.

The life and movement of trees are reflected in the movement and growth of their branches and their roots, following moisture, stability, and reaching towards air and light. Human beings are also reflected in this growth, a part of us grows outwards towards the light and reaching up into the world while another part of us grows below, grounding ourselves in our trauma and finding healing. There is also a possibility there is another version of ourselves out there mirroring the life we are living, a duality connecting ourselves to living beings so similar to us but we are not even aware of the other’s existence.
